All of my sweets are made from scratch. I make my own cake flour, modeling chocolate, vanilla buttercream, chocolate buttercream, strawberry buttercream, and banana buttercream. I also make my own whipped cream frosting in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. I developed all my recipes through testing and tasting. My husband and kids are quality control as taste testers.
I am working on developing my own vanilla extract and flavor emulsions. I am always testing new recipes and developing new items for my bakery. What can I say, I am a science nerd and proud of it! Baking is a science that ends with “Sweet Explosions”. I love feedback from my customers. I am currently working on a line of diabetic sweets per lots of requests from customers and fans. I have an Associates in Business Administration & a Bachelors in Business Administration with a minor in Healthcare Management. I am a proponent for life long learning. I challenge myself to learn one new thing everyday. I am fully aware of the need for healthy and delicious foods. I myself strive to maintain a healthy lifestyle by staying active and only using fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs in my cooking and baking. I love summer because it is an opportunity to have my garden each year and use the fruits of my labor in all the yummy dishes and desserts that I make. I believe in moderation and that everyone deserves something sweet on their birthday. I also believe the art of handmade cards should make a come back. So, I include a handmade card with every order, whether it is for a birthday, baby shower, anniversary, graduation, or any of life’s special occasions. I absolutely love baking and cooking.
I strive for excellence in customer service and do whatever it takes to ensure each and every item looks and tastes delicious. Every cake doesn’t have to be a show stopper. Sometimes a simple iced cake is perfect and elegant. I love receiving requests from clients asking for a cake or dessert that their grandmother or relative used to make. I then do my research and create what I think represents what they remember. While no one can ever replace grandma’s baking or cooking, I aim to create that nostalgic feeling that takes you back to that moment. Food brings people together and creates memories. What makes me most happy is getting photos and comments from my clients showing the smiles of everyone enjoying my sweets. That is what makes everything I do so important to me. It is the proverbial “Icing on the Cake.” I have a servants heart and strive to give 100% to everyone I meet. Honesty and integrity are an intricate part of my business and who I am as a person.
